The Grind Prix

To combine my love of coffee and Formula One, I developed a cafe brand and concept inspired by motor racing. I created the branding for the cafe and a scheme to visualize how the concept could be applied to an actual site.  

  • As an American F1 fan, most of the races I watch are in the morning, so I wanted to create a fan space that allowed for enjoyment and engagement while catering to a morning atmosphere.

  • The visuals of The Grind Prix are inspired by retro aesthetics and classic racing liveries.

  • The concept was developed without a specific site in mind, however the scheme shows a general idea of how the concept could be applied to a physical site that exemplifies some ideal characteristics.

  • The final materials were presented in a set of four zines with posters on the inside that relate to their booklet’s content.

The fourth zine is a mockup of a sellable item of the cafe that would be customized for each race weekend. The booklet would have information on that race’s circuit and roasting partner. The paper unfolds to a track map on the inside.
